Eisai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President & CEO: Haruo Naito) announced the launch of “Chocola BB® Light 2”, a new 100 mL vitamin B2 drink.

The “Chocola BB® Light 2” will be available on the market from May 8 as the latest product in the “Chocola BB®” drink series, the Eisai's core nutritional drink brand that contains vitamin B to support “TCA cycle” (an energy production system in a human body). The “Chocola BB® Light 2” is an upgraded version of the “Chocola BB® Light” which was originally introduced in 2001.

The new formula of the “Chocola BB® Light 2” contains vitamin B2 which supports metabolism of fat and smoothes the action of the “TCA cycle”, while adding amino acids (L-arginine hydrochloride, L-lysine hydrochloride) to promote further metabolism of fat which reduces symptoms of fatigue. In addition, the calories of the new drink have been cut down by 76% to 4.5 kcal per bottle, maintaining the same nutritional function and the flavor.

Eisai focuses on women's health care support through the “Chocola BB®” drink series. Since the Japanese regulatory changes involving drug distribution in 1999, Eisai has been extending the brand including “Chocola BB® Fresh”, “Chocola BB® Light”, “Chocola BB® Royal”, “Chocola® FE Care” as well as “Chocola BB® drink II” launched in 2004.
